I don't really know what to think...my children can't seem to stay well longer than about 10 days. Then, the next thing rolls through. I'm taking ALL of them to the doctor in a few minutes just to make sure there's nothing in our way of going on vacation next week.
Can't wait till we're a stay-at-home family again!
Happy Anniversary to us! We celebrated 12 years of marriage today and not one thing really went as planned, as usual! Couldn't find a sitter for today to save my life and when I thought I did find one, he ended up not being able to be here on time (like 2 1/2 hours late), so we just cancelled our plans and went to dinner with our Boyz. They did really well considering we made them wait about an hour later than usual to eat and we waited for almost half an hour at the restaurant to get seated. Conversation was about normal: "is it coming?", "I don't like that", "mo, mo, mo", "Daddy, do you think you can watch the new Clone Wars episode tonight?", "la,la,la,la,la". I think Kristofer and I exchanged a few words in there, but it wasn't anything deep and romantic. More like, "Wow, Nathaniel likes ... >>full...
We're still getting sick! AAAAGGGHHHH! (I'm feeling a bit like Charlie Brown.)
Kristofer, II was sick off and on all week this week. Due to all my absences at school I can't get a good routine going with my students and they're going berzerk. So, now I've got a meeting with my Principal on Monday...don't even know what he's going to say, but I can imagine and honestly, I'm a little scared and depressed.
Hurricane Ike missed us by *that* much! Similar to Rita, 5 yrs ago, but this time with lots more rain. Some wind gusts, but nothing major and quite a bit of steady rain, but no real flooding even and no more than just regular leaves and branches from a bad thunderstorm. We didn't even get any real thunder. Kinda weird.
I'm praying for all my friends in Orange and Houston, tho'. I really hope they get power back SOON! And hopefully, the waters will recede quickly, too.
So, it's been a couple of weeks and we've all had some sort of health downgrade or other. In the first two weeks of school I missed 3 and a half days of work, Kristofer missed a similar amount of work, which he had to make up in some long evenings at the school he's contracted with, Andrew and Nathaniel made it to school one day week before last, and Kristofer has missed 1 and 3/4 days of school. So, needless to say, I pray constantly that we will be healthy and stay that way for the next 9 months of school! We were a family of four last week, Andrew actually stayed behind in San Antonio with my folks after our visit for their 40th anniversary (Aug. 31). It was a little weird not having him around...we sure missed him! Gran said he ... >>full...
These are the regular journal entries we kept online from late 2004 to mid 2007. Click the year to get there...
We are pretty sure if you aren't interested in us, you wouldn't be on this page. This is our regular online diary about what's going on with us. Milestones and stuff we think would be nice to look back on as we grow older, and it's easier to share with our family and friends this way...especially since scrapbooking is really cool but really hard to keep up with!
