I just happened to stumble across your website while conducting a search for the first Cowles family in America. I don't know very about where my particular branch started out, but we are concentrated mainly to the central part of the Lower Penninsula of Michigan north to the Upper Penninsula. My Great Grandparents were Fred and Blanch Cowles, my Grand parents were Gerald and Irene Cowles, and lastly my parents are Lee and Carol(now Calkins) Cowles.
